Shaping Whitehorse

Do you live, work, study, visit or play in Whitehorse? If you do, this is your opportunity to help shape our future.

Council is planning how it can work most effectively with the local community as well as its partners into the future and as a result, we want to hear from you.

Topics that we want your input into include our community's health and wellbeing, the environment, our local economy, housing and accommodation and other services relevant to you.

Your ideas and experiences will help us set new priorities for what we work on, when and how.

Your feedback will help create four important plans:

The Council Plan 2021-2025 sets the direction of Council. This four-year plan describes Council’s goals and objectives. It describes the ways we will achieve these objectives and how we will measure our progress. The plan outlines priorities for services, infrastructure and amenity based on what the community tells us is important to them.

The Financial Plan tells us how Council will pay for the initiatives, programs, services and facilities it provides over the next 10 years. Community aspirations and needs captured as part of “Shaping Whitehorse” drive the Financial Plan. The plan allows Council to fund long term goals in a financially sustainable way.

The City of Whitehorse Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) 2021-2025 describes our community’s health and wellbeing aspirations. It outlines the main ways Council, alongside other organisations, will work in partnership to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Whitehorse.

An Asset Plan is developed for the management of all infrastructure in with a view to ensure operating, maintaining and renewing  is completed in the most cost effective manner possible, whilst providing a suitable level of service.

The  Asset Plan combines management, financial, engineering and technical practices to ensure the level of service required by customers is provided at the most economical cost to the community and the environment.

The Whitehorse Asset Plan will cover 10 financial years from 2022-23 to 2031-32.

By taking part, you can help Council meet the expectations of the community now and into the future.
