In addition to continuous footpaths in better condition, what about some zebra crossings where cars MUST stop to promote safety and a greater focus on pedestrians? Currently this is sorely lacking in the CBD.

Zebra crossing are needed at all the roundabouts in CBD and/or at key spots on Murphy, Reid Ovens, Ford and Faithful st. Busy Mildura has Zebra crossing at all it's roundabouts in the city centre. The traffic slows down and flows smoothly. Make the CBD pedestrian friendly please!!!!!

I agree, and lack of safe crossing points is why a lot of kids are being driven to school, instead of walking/biking by themselves, especially along Murdoch Rd.

I agree. The able bodies can dart across the road to get about the CBD. Frail people can't do that and don't we want a safer CBD for everyone not just the fit and able. It will also generate more foot traffic which will be good for the smaller retail outlets in the CBD which struggle to remain viable. Lets give it a go !

This could also coincide with reduced speed limits, and an overall improved parking strategy. If we can make it easier and safer for shoppers and cyclists it can only improve our CBD and business.
