It is not necessary. It will cost the council to establish for the very few people who would use it. It will cost the council to maintain it. It will cost the council to keep it free of pests and flies if it is used by anyone. There is literally no demand for this dog walking area. People who wish to walk their dogs in Euroa are perfectly capable of putting them on a lead and walking them on the Apex track (and thanks Apex for all the work you did on this).
If council is prevailed upon by the very few people who think this is a good idea the only place to put it is at the Showgrounds which is already fenced and which already has secure padlocks etc.

Hi Kate, thanks so much for your valuable contribution to the discussion, great points you raise here. The provision of dogs off-leash areas has been a very community-driven concept from the beginning.
It is an action in our Council Plan which was driven by community feedback at the beginning of Council's term. We've also had a signed petition with over 50 signatures from local community members and have received a number of letters from individuals.
We've also found we have only had positive feedback here on the forum and on social media.
The Showgrounds has been a popular opinion provided on this forum so we will be sure to consider it as an option once the community engagement period concludes.
