Local governments individually have a huge amount of local community intelligence about big issues facing all levels of government. Things such as homelessness, the ageing population, housing needs, urban planning, health, and services for youth, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, children.......are just a few examples considered and responded to by local governments daily.

What strategies does the Federal government have in place to collect and collate this local knowledge and learn from those working "at the coalface" to inform the development and review of relevant public policy.
