Part 4 of the by-law requires an owner to register a cat that is over the age of six months.
I would suggest that this age be reduced to 3 months.
Reducing the registration age to 3 months would :
1. Reduce the possibility of not being able to determine if a cat found at large is at an age that requires registering.
2. Encourage breeders to register cats before sale.
4. Encourage new owners of young cats to register as soon as possible rather than waiting till the age limit applies.
If the registration and microchipping age are aligned to three months it will streamline the administration of registering a cat.
