COUNCIL PLAN – WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU

Forum is closed.

In 2013 we asked the community for their big ideas for Hepburn Shire. Over 10% of residents and ratepayers contributed ideas for the 2013-17 Council Plan. It's now time to set our strategic direction and priorities for the next four years.

In the coming months, we will be working with the community to develop our new Council Plan 2017- 2021…and we want to hear from you.

Because we want to build on the achievements of the past four years we have included some of our ideas here so tell us what you think or add your own ideas!

The Council Plan sets our strategic direction and priorities for the next four years. Over the previous Council Plan process we heard what the community wanted and we have been working hard to deliver on our commitments. It’s now time to start thinking about the next four years and projects/initiatives that will deliver significant benefits for our community.

Council Plan drop-in sessions were held around the shire in February. There will now be a community conference held on Thursday 16 March 2017, Daylesford Town Hall (76 Vincent Street) at 7pm.  The conference is an opportunity for the community to come together and discuss the top priorities.

Just a question regarding money, how it is spent & it's financial viability...one argument the council is using for the cinema not remaining at the Rex is it may not be financially viable (considering it was a community funded project using volunteers to run it, I'm not really sure how that affects the Council..??), but anyway, back in 2015 there was a big hooha about the new bridge which cost over $100+ being installed down at the springs in Hepburn...mmmm, fail to see the financial commonsense or viability of this bridge..in fact, I fail to see the sense in this bridge at all! It's the ...

Please do everything you can to preserve the Rex cinema. An attraction like the cinema can be a huge drawcard for tourists as well as providing amenity for our residents. Other regions have lovely old cinemas that keep the community connected and provide somewhere to go when it's raining or something to do of an evening. We would love to see the cinema have a nice new location with improved facilities that would be something to be proud of and reward the history and community effort that has gone into running the cinema.
