Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021

Forum is closed.

The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021 (MPHWP) aims to protect, improve and promote the health and wellbeing of people living in Hepburn Shire.  The plan outlines how Council, with support from other local health partners, will work to address key health priorities to achieve a higher level of health and wellbeing for people who live, work and play in Hepburn Shire.

The MPHWP sets four priorities that will guide action over the next four years.  These priorities have been determined based on the review of health related data, community consultation and health partner consultation.

-Provide regular, current, clever, up-to-date and ongoing communications about initiatives in each area
-Develop ways for community members to connect as supporters and resource people for each area and programs within areas (for example, how can community members best support efforts to prevent young people from taking up smoking, or help prevent family violence, or encourage healthy eating and physical activity? To promote healthy active living you can add some park style exercise equipment to the gravel area near the splash/water park.
Something basic, no moving parts as to decrease maintenance.
Here's an example: http://www.parkfitaust.com.au

Indoor heated pool for all round fitness and more recreation options.
Basketball court.
Better signage for our lovely walks - also a new Trentham town sign - the one coming in from Daylesford is outdated
Opportunity for input into choices of public art - the concrete pillars in the Stoney Creek park are very disappointing and not at all representative of what it is purportedly representing.

Hydrotherapy pool(heated) for elderly , rehab and kids to learn swimming.
Sensory integration walk for youth to explore and train their sensors.
Body weight training station connected to a walking/ running trail.
Poster project showing the number of families that have been effected by family violence this year in the region and compare to national average.. pervious years.. to shine a light on it and lift awareness.

Trentham desperately needs adequate footpaths for safe pedestrian use.
Roundup should be banned in all of Australia as it has been proved to be massively detrimental to human health.
