Rural ratepayers are disadvantaged in many ways compared to their city cousins. Not many votes, so not much funding. The imbalance needs to be redressed.

Yes, big problem. Rates in rural shires are already significantly higher than in the larger urban shires. State needs to step in and help out to equalize the issue. Many of the problems for rural shires is due to state and federal cost shifting which is now becoming a very hot topic of discussion.
