Paul commented on Paul's question: “Hi Wayne, thanks for adding your comments. I take it "that's a typical comment form you Paul" is referring to the question. All the question is really asking is to let the people of QLD decide whether or not we have daylight savings or not. In the past the question has been brought before the premier who has summarily dismissed without asking us. If you don't want it then that's fine, but wouldn't it be good to have the chance to say. The rest of the question is simply a fact there is a majority of people in the SE , as there was 20 years ago...”
Paul commented on Paul's question: “And further if you go through those results and see which area voted yes or no you'll see that the majority of us in the southeast voted yes even back then. :-) ”
Paul commented on Paul's question: “You are correct Andrew, there was however that was in 1992 so almost 20 years ago. ”
Paul commented on Paul's question: “At the moment South Australia is half an hour ahead of us. A state to our west is now ahead of us, thanks to daylight savings. Come on people do we really want Adelaide to be ahead of us :-) ( no offense to any wonderful people from SA who may be reading this :-) ) ”
Paul asked the question: “Why will you not hold a referendum to allow the citizens of QLD their chance to decide if we should introduce Daylight savings or not? There is a majority of people within the southeast who find it incredibly frustrating this time of year when dealing with southern states who are 1 hour ahead of us. All I'm asking for is the chance to take this to the vote, if it looses then fair enough but let us decide please.”
