With tourism being highly supported by the Federal Government, and mineral resources being in a boom, the State of Queensland should now be in the best economic times. Yet the economy is struggling and unemployment is growing and investment in the state's future is negligible. What is your plan to grow the Queensland economy when the resources boom tapers off?

Why do politicians refuse to deny 80% of the population who want a say in their own end of life decisions? If they are worried about the so called abuse of such legislation - why don't they research the many countries who have had these laws for many years? Isn't a democratic government supposed to be government by the people for the people - is democracy dead?

Anna Bligh was demonstrably wrong when she stated "There is no evidence that any disease or illness or condition is more prevalent in Townsville, or Sydney or Melbourne than it is in any city without fluoride." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1SB1_0_L3Q Townsville Health Service District residents, Fluoridated for over 40 years, are admitted at a higher rate than people from other parts of Queensland for potentially avoidable conditions including asthma, congestive heart failure, convulsions and epilepsy, congestive obstructive pulmonary disease, dental conditions (***), ear, nose and throat conditions, and pyelonephritis. http://www.health.qld.gov.au/townsville/Documents/executive/e_csp_bgp3_demogr.pdf A number of these diseases are associated with and/or exacerbated by Fluoride, see www.fluoridealert.org In a community forum in 2005, you, as the then Brisbane Lord Mayor Mr Campbell Newman, said you would not support water fluoridation because a third of residents rejected mass medication. You also said "It's up to medical and dental professional associations to make the case. In 1997 they had the opportunity to make their case and the results show they were not able to do that." You have also stated you want to save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars wasted on Labor schemes such as Fluoridation. ”
