It's not true what Bligh says about the Kogan Creek power station's "solar thermal power booster" being "Australia's first". The very same technology (linear fresnel mirrors pre-heating steam, now billed as belonging to French nuclear power behemoth Areva, which got it by acquisition of the Australian-American startup Ausra) was pioneered by David Mills of the University of New South Wales and first built at Liddell power station in the Hunter Valley of NSW over the period 2005-2008. It generates 36MW -- not so very much less than this 44MW "largest in the southern hemisphere" newcomer.

Graham Carman, an MSDS document is only valid for the concentrations stated in the document. The properties of a pure substance are going to be very different to those of the diluted substance. So while the MSDS for pure sodium fluoride does indeed list quite a few hazards, the MSDS of sodium fluoride diluted to less than 1% concentration (tap water is much less than this) says something very different. It's like drinking pure citric acid, versus drinking orange juice. Same component, different concentration. You also have to remember these documents make the assumption that they are all lab chemicals, and as such it's considered very bad practice to drink any lab chemical. For comparison, I suggest you look up the MSDS of pure water and pay particular attention to the recommended safe handling techniques and equipment.

Darn! It WASN'T the ADA, it was the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) that warns mothers...BUGGER. Also, I had a read of the report she mentioned and GUESS WHAT? quote "INDUSTRIAL SOURCES OF FLUORIDE EG FROM ALUMINIUM SMELTING ARE EXCLUDED" unquote. Unbelievable as THIS is what is in our water. At least the question did get asked so lets keep going people!

Anna Bligh knows the adverse side effects (scientifically documented) because she was handed a lot of the irrefutable scientific evidence before she finally introduced the S6 poison into all QLD water supplies. Dont know what her agenda is but to introduce a poison when she knew its consequences is criminal. perhaps she has shares in the company that the QLD Govt buys the fluoride off or perhaps she has a cushy job lined up with that company after her demise in politics. Who knows but it makes no sense to deliberately introduce one of the most toxic compounds known to man into any water supply. Want proof of how toxic, just google the MSDS for Sodium Fluoride .

Dear Ian Buckland, given you would believe what scientists are saying, perhaps you would also believe the reason why over 3,000 Professionals have called for an End to Water Fluoridation which can be reviewed here; http://www.fluoridealert.org/professionals-statement.html. If you wont believe what these and MANY MANY scientists have found that being Fluoride has long term adverse side effects including neurological impacts, then you may as well put your head back in the sand like an ostrich hiding from the truth. i was born in 1959 and had no fluoridation in my water supply yet my amount of fillings is less than many people in Townsville who have had fluoride in their water supply for years. i wont even allow my breeding dogs to drink the fluoridated water because as soon as it was fluoridated here in QLD we started getting deformed pups for the first time in over 30 years of breeding. Since giving our dogs RO water we have had no more deformities, so go figure!!!! All I can say is if you are going to make comments at least research the KNOW and DOCUMENTED scientifically established facts that Fluoride even at the dose rate we have here in QLD will cause irreversible health problems. Just watch the statisitics on osteoporsis increase dramatically % wise over the next decade or more. The reason it will rise is because fluoride leaches calcium from the bones, thats why dental fluorosis is such a problem in countires that have had toxic S6 poison injected into their water systems for years (yes Fluoride is an S6 cumulative poison)

Although genetics probably has quite a bit to do with dental health, I wish there had been flouride in the water when I was growing up in the 1960's - my teeth may not have been such a disaster now ! And I'd rather go by what the scientists say than the crazed ravings of communist conspiracy loonies ! - that's straight out of 'Dr Strangelove' !

Anna Bligh, All councils in Australia are directed by the United Nations ? which have always been a Communist Organisation. How can you make a decision on the subject of Flouride when you are under their control ??

I think it's time to switch to renewable energy - 100% Renewable Energy for Australia! Do you honestly believe that fossil fuels is a long-term solution for powering Australia?
