With the measures in the budget for young Australians, including getting them into work or education to reduce the amount of money the government must spend on them, it seems that many politicians only view youth relative to the economic position of this country and its government and what a burden we are instead of what we, as the future generations of leaders, can contribute to the growth and change of our country. I am a young Australian who, along with many of my friends, is very actively engaged with politics with many ideas to contribute on our nation's future. Is it time to make young Australians more involved in policy decisions that will affect the future of the country we will inherit and in what way? Is the current situation simply a case of age superiority or do you believe that youth cannot be trusted with the future of the nation?

This is a good question. I don't entirely agree with the premise of "burdenship" but I do think young folks need to be more included in the national conversation. Well done.

Excellent question - time we had progressive, forward thinking people in Parliament and helping decide our future. Current bunch appear to be stuck in the past.

We need some young progressive minds in parliament. Get rid of the fossils who won't listen to a rational argument. We need to save the planet or noone will have a future.
