We are Educators, not babysitters; we provide educational programs based on a educational framework developed in line with this government's guidelines; to work in early education higher qualifications are required - why are we paid a fraction of what school based educators are and not valued by government and community as legitimate educators?

It's very important to have a vision of how child care is a vital industry and to believe in that vision. We are already highly regarded professionals, what we do is crucial to Australian society. We will get the pay rise and we will get it sooner than you think. Keep believing in what you do. Families believe in early childhood professionals. What do we have as a nation with out healthy families?

research now confirms the 1st yrs are the importsnt ones in setting a foundation for the children. we need to ensure we have quality educators to support this. to do that we need to retain them, and bring them up to primary pay system, not pay them minimum wage. c'mon Gillard, for once do something RIGHT!
