Prime Minister, you discriminate against Defence Force men and women when you say the country can afford fair indexation that protects pension purchasing power for over 3 million age pensioners but cannot afford to protect the purchasing power for 65,000 military superannuation pensioners (around $20M in the first year). You compound your discrimination when you add that the country can also afford the latest indexation increase for superannuated MPs, a massive 30 times greater than that for military superannuation pensioners. Given that fair indexation was an employment condition upon enlistment and given that it is clearly affordable, why won't you index military superannuation pensions fairly?

The comments posted following the debate are all valid. I too was quite upset by the actions of the moderator in cutting David off, and of the liars perpetuated by our (so-called) prime minister. For those that are interested, have a look at this 2GB conversation by Alan Jones regarding Ms Gillard. http://www.2gb.com/index2.php?option=com_newsmanager&task=view&id=13667

Julia Gillard failed to answer the questions raised about Military Superannuation and used her usual technique of addressing irrelevant matters at length in her answer. Such technique is well known to anyone who has listened to question time from the House of Representatives in Canberra. Military Superannuation covers retired pay and invalidity pay. Such pay has always been parsimonious from Australian Governments and has resulted in former regular members of the Australian Defence force left to experience a regular decline in the purchasing power of their superannuation payments as they get older. This is evident to any former ADF member who compares the percentage of final salary received on separation with the same percentage of the published salary of someone of equivalent rank and specialisation who is serving today. Parliamentary interest in the matter has been limited as evidenced by the guillotined second reading debates on the DFRB and DFRDB legislation. Public servants are left to interpret as best they can a series of overlapping oft-amended complex, ambiguous Acts. Representations by the RSL, the RDFWA and other ex-service organisations have gone unheeded. The present government has dismissed all requests and reasoned arguments for change by claiming unaffordability. The whole business is a clear example of a country poorly led, badly maintained and ineffectively managed.

I've never seen any PM in the past so eager to throw away 800000 votes. Maybe this unelected PM has a secret agenda to lose the next election.

That was the most discraceful performance by a PM in the historty of this nation. She did niot answer Davidis question and the so called moderator/facilitator cut him off when he tried to comment. There was a hidden agenda by the farce to get they gay lobby's views foisted on us oince again. A lot of the questioners were given extra time to elaboatew on the question, but not David. Wonder why? Was it because the PM knew absulotly noything abour waht she wasa talking about, or wasa it becauce she once again is trying to cover up. Suspect both. Sorry about the typo's, but this program will not allow me to deleted wourds/letters or amend if I make a mistake. Why is this. There is nothing wrong witrh my computer or program mas it is brand new. It can only come from the site!

Dear Prime Minister, when are you going to realise there is a difference between between ADF superannuation and CPS superannuation, remember the "Unique Nature of Military Service" You did not answer the question on DFRDB and you used the highly suspect figures produced by Senator Wong during the Fair Indexation debate in the Senate. I expected much better from you and the facilitator. I am disgusted Jim Hislop

Supplementary questions and long conversations are OK for the Aunt Sally's. But obviously the PM was only set up to answer the specific pre notified question, hence cutting off David Jamison's suplementary. Why advertisise this as if it was more that just a paid political form for the PM to sprout out more of the same and think it will make a difference. It won't make a difference to Gov. Policy (They are just trying new ways of selling it It won't make a difference to our vote (We are hoping they might give us an excuse the consider voting for them again) Neither is going to happen. So check out the opposition and bunker down till the election,.

Well Prime Minister! Your answers to the question on Military pensions was wrong, you know it and so do the puppets that you employ such as Wong and Swan. It really does not matter that much in the end after all the Military is only good for one thing that is looking after our countries interests. Something you have not been doing. Wont be long now and you will be gone, thank goodness.

Prime Minister. Why is your generous super not indexed to the CPI like mine? If it is good enough for me, why is it not for you! Should I thank you for the "generous " .87 cents a fortnight increase I just received?
